How We Connected with Yintjingga Aboriginal Corporation

Sometimes, the best partnerships don’t start with a sales pitch — they start with a conversation.

In 2022, I was invited to present at the Australian Indigenous Tourism Conference in Cairns. The session was titled “Empower Your Community with Online Bookings and Permits”, based on the work we had done with Dhimurru Aboriginal Corporation.

At the time, Yintjingga Aboriginal Corporation had planned to attend the conference specifically to hear that presentation and connect with us.

Due to competing priorities and financial considerations, they made the call not to attend.

But instead of leaving it there, they reached out to our office on the morning of the conference to see if there was still an opportunity to meet while we were in Cairns.

That one phone call made all the difference.

Later that day, their CEO made the trip down to the conference and met with us at our exhibition booth. From there, we were able to walk through RezExpert together — including a live, personalised demonstration focused on what they were trying to achieve.

No pressure. No hard sell. Just a genuine conversation about how we could help.

What Challenge Were They Facing?

How do you manage beach access permits effectively?

Managing access to remote coastal areas comes with unique challenges.

For Yintjingga Aboriginal Corporation, this included:

  • Manual permit processes
  • Rangers stationed on-site
  • Reliance on honesty-box payments
  • Limited visibility over who was accessing Country

These methods created inefficiencies, increased admin, and made it difficult to maintain consistent control — particularly during busy periods.

Why was timing critical?

With peak season approaching, there was a clear need to implement a more effective system — quickly.

Delaying the transition meant continuing with manual processes during their busiest time of year, placing additional pressure on staff and resources.

The Solution – Moving Permits & Bookings Online

How does RezExpert support permit and campground management?

RezExpert provided a simple, centralised platform to manage:

  • 4WD beach access permits
  • Campground bookings
  • Visitor information and tracking
  • Online payments

Everything in one place — accessible to both the team and visitors.

Was the system difficult to implement?

Not at all.

The urgency of the situation meant the system needed to be implemented efficiently and without unnecessary complexity, which aligned perfectly with RezExpert’s approach.

The Outcome

Today, Yintjingga Aboriginal Corporation uses RezExpert to manage both beach access permits and campground bookings across Lama Lama Country.

The result:

  • Reduced manual administration
  • Improved control over access to Country
  • Better visibility of visitor activity
  • More time for their team to focus on cultural and environmental responsibilities
